Scope and applicability

This Privacy Policy applies to North East Service Hub ("NESH", "we", "us", "our"), operating the pre-registration website and the Worker and Citizen mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you ("you", "User", "Data Principal") consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of information described herein, in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law.

Personal data we process

In connection with the Platform, we may collect and process the following categories of personal data, depending on which part of the Platform you use and the permissions you grant:

  • Identity and contact information — phone number, name, email address, and profile image.
  • Verification information — government-issued identification and a photograph, submitted by Users seeking to offer services through the Platform, for the purpose of identity verification.
  • Location information — addresses and, where permitted, device location, used to facilitate service delivery.
  • Communications data — content and metadata of messages and calls exchanged through the Platform.
  • Transaction information — records relating to services booked, agreed, and settled through the Platform.
  • Device and technical information — device identifiers, operating system, application version, and diagnostic information.
  • Usage information — interactions with the Platform, collected through analytics services, for the purpose of service improvement.
  • Pre-registration information — where you register interest via the website prior to launch, your phone number, for the sole purpose of notifying you of availability.

Automated processing

We may use automated means, including third-party artificial intelligence service providers, to process Platform usage information for the purpose of generating internal analytical summaries relevant to service quality and matching. Such processing does not result in personal data being made visible to other Users. You may request that your data be excluded from this processing by contacting us as set out below.

Cookies and similar technologies

The pre-registration website uses cookies for analytics purposes, which are set only upon your affirmative consent via the cookie notice presented on the site. Declining or disregarding the notice results in no such cookie being set.

Purpose of processing

Personal data is processed for the purposes of: operating the Platform and its marketplace functions; facilitating communication and transactions between Users; verifying the identity of Users offering services; maintaining the security and integrity of the Platform; complying with applicable legal obligations; and improving the Platform through service analytics.

Disclosure of personal data

We do not sell personal data. Personal data may be disclosed to: other Users, to the extent necessary to facilitate a transaction (e.g. name, profile image, verification status); service providers engaged by us for infrastructure, communications, analytics, and data-processing purposes, acting on our instructions and bound by confidentiality obligations; and any authority where required under applicable law.

Data retention

Personal data is retained for so long as your account remains active and as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this Policy. Upon account deletion, we will erase or de-identify personal data save where retention is required to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold concerning you; seek correction or erasure of such data; withdraw consent previously given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal; and lodge a grievance regarding the processing of your personal data.
